3. National Railway Museum
This FREE museum is the perfect way to spend a morning. See how the other half live with a peak into royal carriages and climb aboard the infamous Bullet train. It’s worth being there for elevenses to enjoy their delicious array of pastries and cakes.
4. House Of The Trembling Madness
Have a drink at this mediaeval ale house and marvel at the thousands of craft beers and ciders they sell. It’s worth a visit just to see the cool packaging!

5. The Shambles
Potter heads among us are going to love The Shambles, described as a real-life Diagon Alley. Get there early to visit ‘The Shop That Must Not Be Named’ before the inevitable daily queue begins.
6. The Hole In Wand
And if you haven’t quite got your Harry Potter fix, make sure to stop by the world’s most magical wizard crazy golf.
7. York Designer Outlet
Whilst there is a fab array of boutiques and high-street shops in the city centre, if it’s a bargain you’re after, take a 10 minute bus trip to the McArthurGlen outlet.

Yes, that’s right, there is a pub to visit everyday of the year. But if you’ve only got time for one, visit The Fat Badger for photo-worthy Minster views.
